Missions: The Answer to the Worlds Problems: Jesus! We are all Missionaries!

With all the troubles in the world this year of our Lord 2016, we need to remember that the only answer is Jesus!

"And Jesus said to them, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Luke 10:1-20

Pray that more "workers," Jesus' followers, will take up the great commission and share the hope of the good news of Jesus with a hurting world!

"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'" Matthew 28:18-20, The Great Commission

If you have been saved by Jesus, you have been commissioned to share the cure for sin and death. You are a missionary.

A simple explanation of missions is that we have a glorious King who has rescued us into His Kingdom, and now we get to love Him, worship Him and tell the world about Him so others will love, worship and share Him.

Even Wikipedia, believe it or not, gives one of the best definitions I've found of missional living: "In Christianity, missional living is the adoption of the posture, thinking, behaviors, and practices of a missionary in order to engage others with the gospel message."

Unfortunately, the word "missional" has become an overused and misunderstood buzzword. But, at its core, the term emphasizes the truth that all Christians should be involved in the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, not only a select group of career missionaries.
