Science: Are we in the Matrix? Evidence of design

A recent article describes how science is pointing to design, but instead of looking to the Designer, "our most prominent scientific and tech thinkers seriously propose we are living in a computer program."

Why would secular scientists, that normally make fun of Christians for pointing out the evidence of design all around us, be suggesting that we are living in a created simulation? Because the evidence of science points to a creator! Yet they refuse to follow the evidence to the truth and instead move to un-scientific philosophies. "embracing the Matrix Scenario and the idea of infinite universes allows their propounders to remain materialists in good standing."

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.

So they are without excuse.

Science: Mythical Ape-Man or Neanderthal man

Who has seen neanderthal man? No one. It's not science. It's not observable. It's a myth.

But what about Piltdown man?

The most famous example of an apeman proven to be a combination of ape and human bones is Piltdown man. In 1912, Charles Dawson, a medical doctor and an amateur paleontologist, discovered a mandible (lower jawbone) and part of a skull in a gravel pit near Piltdown, England. The jawbone was apelike, but had teeth that showed wear similar to the human pattern. The skull, on the other hand, was very humanlike. These two specimens were combined to form what was called “Dawn man,” which was calculated to be 500,000 years old.

The whole thing turned out to be an elaborate hoax.

Science: what kind? Observational, Historical, or Theoretical?

Often those that try to deny God will claim that science and faith have no place together...

However! They often aren't actually speaking of science, as in observational, scientific method type science.

They make their claims using historical or theoretical "science."

For example:

We have the law of gravity. Why, because it can be observed, tested and verified.

Thomas Paine on the Bible

Thomas Paine (1737-1809) was one of the least religious of America’s founding fathers...
Nonetheless, Paine knew the Bible’s worldview was inseparable from the scientific worldview. During a lecture in Paris in 1797, he criticized the French for their secular teaching of science in the public schools:

Isaac Newton on the Bible

Newton is considered by many to be the greatest and most influential scientist who ever lived. He was a brilliant pioneer in optics and calculus. His most important work was published in 1687, The Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Latin for "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy"). In this groundbreaking work, Newton described his three laws of motion and explained universal gravitation. These principles are the bedrock of modern physics. Principia is probably the most important scientific book ever written.

Francis Bacon on the Bible

Francis Bacon (1561-1626) was born during a pivotal season of world history, and his life altered the course of that history. Though he succeeded as a philosopher, he failed as a politician, and he developed a method of research that earned him the title "Father of the Scientific Method." ...
Bacon was a devoted reader of the Bible and his notes can be found in the margins of many different Bibles. He also wrote his own commentary on the entire Bible. Beginning with the first verse, Genesis 1:1, he wrote:
