Prayer for Spiritual Warfare

"Almighty God, who delivered Your people from the bondage of the adversary, and through Your Son Jesus cast down Satan like lightning, deliver us from every influence of unclean spirits.

Command Satan to part from us by the power of Your only begotten Son Jesus. Rescue us from demonic darkness.

Fill us with the light of the Holy Spirit that we may be guarded against the snares of the crafty demons.

Lead us to the path of righteousness all the days of our life, to the honor of Your glorious name, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Call to God - Jeremiah 33:3

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
Jeremiah 33:3

You have asked us to call to You, with the promise that You will answer when we do. We humbly seek Your guidance for [the State of Illinois and the Constitution Party]. Give us wisdom so that we will be a people guided by Your Spirit and filled with Your presence. Help us, O Lord, to honor You in word and deed, that we as a people will have Your blessing and favor. Prayer for healing

Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, You became man and died on the cross for our salvation. You healed people of sickness and affliction through Your love and compassion. Visit me, Lord, and grant me strength to bear this sickness with which I am afflicted, with patience, submission to Your will and trust in Your loving care. I pray that You will bless the means used for my recovery and those who administer them. Grant that my sickness may be to my spiritual benefit and that I may live the rest of my life more faithfully according to Your will.

Prayer for Sunday from "My Orthodox Prayer Book"

I really enjoy this short little devotional prayer. I use it in our family prayer circle on Sunday mornings.

For Sunday

This is the day of the Lord! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Let us thank the Lord for daily food, health, and the blessings of home.

Let us love one another in the Lord.

Now we live in Christ through the Holy Spirit and we look for the day when we will dwell with Him in His glorious kingdom.

Savior, bless these Your gifts which we receive from Your hand.

What is prayer? How do I pray?

Mick Dobra, 2014,

What is prayer?

"The purpose of prayer is to express our submission to the sovereignty of God and our trust in His faithfulness. Prayer is the means by which we express all that is in our hearts to our loving and wise heavenly Father. Prayer is not to give God information, because God knows everything. Prayer brings us into reverent communion with God, worshiping Him and acknowledging Him as the giver of all things." (1)
